One Chicago-area woman’s fight to get her family in Gaza to safety
A Northwestern law student is suing the Biden administration over what she says is its failure to evacuate her U.S. citizen family members.
Palestinian American Yasmeen Elagha has spent the last three months talking, negotiating and pleading with different U.S. agencies — and even different governments — for help to get her family in Gaza to safety.
The State Department says it has helped evacuate 1,300 Palestinian Americans from the besieged strip as of the middle of December. Meanwhile, roughly 300 Americans and their families remain stuck there.
Reset sits down with Elagha for more on her story and what she wants the Biden administration and her own elected officials in Illinois to do to help her family get to safety.
