The union says this is the longest strike of adjunct faculty in higher education history.
The strike was spurred by Columbia College cutting 53 classes taught by adjunct faculty for the fall 2023 semester and 317 classes for the spring 2024 semester. The college cites under enrollment and fiscal issues which the union disputes.
