The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Watch beginning Sunday and ending on Tuesday.

Temperatures could be higher than 100-degrees on those days.

Kevin Smith is a spokesperson for the Office of Emergency Management and Communications.

He says children and adults are some of the most at-risk when temperatures rise.

“And as long as people exercise some common sense, drinking plenty of fluids, staying out of the heat in the middle of the day, everyone should remain hopefully safe and healthy at the conclusion of the weekend,” Smith says.

Smith encourages the public to check in on seniors over the weekend.
