Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is calling on the federal government to dole out stimulus money for airports.

The mayor told a room full of airport executives it seems like their industry was forgotten in the multi-billion dollar economic stimulus plan.

Daley was touting his massive expansion of O’Hare International Airport, which he says is creating much-needed jobs during the economic recession.

But he says the O’Hare Modernization Program could provide a bigger boost if the federal government would help fund it with stimulus cash.

The city had previously hoped to secure stimulus money to help pay for the estimated $15 billion O’Hare expansion.

Instead, it got just $12 million dollars for some runway improvements.
