Conservative State Rep. Jeanne Ives Will Challenge Gov. Rauner In GOP Primary

Republican state Rep. Jeanne Ives confirmed Tuesday night that she will challenge incumbent governor Bruce Rauner in the Republican primary. In an interview on WTTW’s Chicago Tonight, Ives said she’s no longer pursuing re-election as a state lawmaker representing Wheaton and surrounding suburbs. Instead, she’s collecting signatures from voters across the state and expects to be on the ballot come March 15.
