The race is on to find out who will replace U.S. Representative Bobby Rush, who’s retiring after 15 terms.

For the first time in nearly three decades, Illinois’ 1st Congressional District will have a new leader. A total of 21 candidates are vying to fill the historic seat of U.S. Representative Bobby Rush, who announced he’s not seeking reelection earlier this year.
