Bil Becker founded Aerotecture to push the development of wind power into urban areas. His seeks to wring electricity from spinning turbines in ways that are safe for birds, close-knit properties, and people. That’s led to experimentation with horizontal designs to fit into urban architecture. Here, Becker discusses how he’s inspired by the visionary engineer Buckminster Fuller. Becker then explains how early wind turbine designs were not a good fit for city living.
