Many years ago, John Wahlfedt’s wife bought him a book about a forgotten tunnel system beneath downtown Chicago. In 2016, John came to the StoryCorps booth in Chicago with his copy of the book, Forty Feet Below. His daughter Laura, and granddaughter Sarah asked him to explain why the book was so meaningful to him.
