Nine corporations based in America and China control the bulk of the data that underpins artificial intelligence technologies. Futurist Amy Webb wrote about this phenomenon in her latest book, The Big Nine: How the Tech Titans and Their Thinking Machines Could Warp Humanity. During a recent talk entitled The Artificial Intelligence Arms Race,” hosted by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, Webb explored the differences between the Chinese and American approaches to artificial intelligence technologies. Worldview’s Jerome McDonnell moderated the talk, where this show was recorded.
