For this month’s book club, we are diving headfirst into the horror genre with This Thing Between Us by Gus Moreno. The novel is told from the perspective of Thiago, who is processing the recent death of his wife Vera. He is also experiencing increasingly spooky, confusing occurrences, starting with an erratic smart speaker. It’s a story about grief, technology, straddling identities and a whole lot more. We talked to Gus about how writing horror helped him to process his own personal loss.
