Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office launches new gun violence prevention initiative

It’s one of only a few violence prevention initiatives nationwide to be housed in a prosecutor’s office.

After receiving approval in March, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office launched the Gun Violence Prevention Initiative on Friday. The effort will focus on managing and hiring at least 10 violence interrupters in Waukegan, Zion and North Chicago.
