We’ve seen this story before. A young kid is walking along the road, or playing alone on the playground. No adult walking alongside or sitting on the playground bench. Other parents are concerned, maybe police are called maybe the kid is driven back home, delivered to the parents with a warning or in some cases, punishment. Now some parents are fighting back. They believe this isn’t child endangerment, it’s just “free-range parenting.” Today we discuss that concept and the ways we watch over our kids. This style of parenting doesn’t fit every situation. We’re joined by Katie Slivovsky, who penned a piece about her parenting style for Huffington Post and for the blog Free Range Kids.com. (Photo: Flickr/ Pawpaw67)
