These days, scams come in all shapes and sizes. From repeated phone calls saying a warrant is out for your arrest unless you pay some unheard-of outstanding debt, to a text with a link to track a package you never ordered. Scammers are getting more sophisticated, and it’s getting harder to tell a genuine text, email or phone call from a fake one. And it’s costing Illinoisans billions of dollars a year.
