Every Monday leading up to the municipal election on Feb. 26, Morning Shift has been talking about some of the biggest issues that Chicago’s next mayor will be dealing with when he or she takes office in May, including housing, economic development and education. 

Today, we’re looking at population. Particularly, population loss. Chicago has lost residents each year since 2015, and in addition to that net loss, we’re also seeing some pretty significant demographic changes to the makeup of the city.
