Federal prosecutors in Chicago are hailing what they call a victory against international child porn.

U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez flew in from Washington to announce a high-profile porn bust.

Prosecutors charged 13 U.S. citizens with producing and sharing child porn via the Internet.

Investigators say 27 people from the U.S., Canada, Great Britain and Australia were involved.

Assistant Secretary of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Julie Myers watched the case.

She says child porn’s been swapped over the Internet for years, but this ring represents a disturbing trend.

“We’re starting to see more new material and new victims,” she says. “We even saw child molestation on demand through emerging technology, such as streaming live videos.”

Myers says the bust shows law enforcement’s catching up with pornographers’ technical sophistication.

Three Illinois residents are accused, including one from Bartlett and another from Aurora. They could face up to 30 years in prison.
