Mary Hall

Former Digital Producer
Mary Hall is a digital producer at WBEZ. She received her masters degree from Northwestern University, Medill School of Journalism in Social Justice and Investigative Reporting, during which time she collaborated on projects with WBEZ, the Chicago Tribune, the Better Government Association, YES! Magazine and the Solutions Journalism Network. She also produced a documentary on pregnant women facing addictions, which was accepted into the American Documentary Film Festival. 

Mary was a former editor and reporter at the Daily Journal in Kankakee, Illinois, where she managed a cross-discipline team, wrote features, produced social video and spearheaded the use of data visualization at the publication. She won three awards from the Illinois Press Association for infographics. 

Originally from St. Louis, she grew up in Quito, Ecuador, speaks Spanish, and has strong opinions about South American restaurants in Chicago.
